Do I need an electrical outlet?
Yes, our bidet seats require an electrical outlet, operating on a standard 120 volts AC. You will need a three-prong GFCI grounded outlet.
For those interested in installing a new outlet specifically for their bidet seat, the optimum location when facing your toilet fixture is to the right side of the fixture underneath the toilet tank. Please contact your local electrician.
Why do I need a GFCI outlet?
A GFCI outlet is ground-fault circuit interrupter (outlet with an internal safety breaker, common in kitchens and bathrooms). Omigo must be plugged into a GFCI outlet.
What if my outlet isn't GFCI?
If your nearest outlet is not GFCI, you can find adapters at your local hardware store or online.
Here is one from Amazon that we like.
Can I use an extension cord?
Our bidet seats have an electrical cord that is 3.5 feet long. You may want to consider a temporary extension cord to reach your nearest outlet. Only use those rated for a minimum of 15 amps with a 3-wire extension cord with a 3-blade grounding plug.
Cord concealers and clips are helpful in guiding cords along baseboards to prevent anyone from tripping over the extension cord.
